Day 21 – Favorite Book from Your Childhood
Translation: The Legend of the Bitter Gourd
Even though it’s for younger kids, I never stopped reading it until fourth grade or so. I remember being fascinated with how the bitter gourd ended up having wrinkled skin. The moral lesson of the book? Well, there are three things: 1) don’t be envious of others; 2) each of us is unique; and 3) be careful what you wished for.
Phew. See how much I love the book? It’s been ages since I last read it, and yet I still remember the gist and the moral lessons it conveyed.
